The center aims to coordinate aging-related research, education, and resources within the NUS community while fostering collaborations among various stakeholders interested in creating meaningful enhancements to living environments.

Project Background

The “Comparative Study of Housing Typologies for Seniors” (CS-HTS) project focuses on adapting existing and future housing to support aging in place and enhance the quality of life (QoL) for older adults in urban settings. Utilizing a community science approach, the project aims to collaboratively develop, evaluate, and recommend integrated senior housing models for Singapore. This multidisciplinary initiative brings together experts from architecture, urban design, social sciences, public health, and more.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Research Fellow, you will:

  • Engage with internal and external collaborators to drive the project forward.
  • Lead and mentor a team of junior research staff, providing guidance on systematic literature reviews, evaluation frameworks, survey design, and data analysis methods.
  • Prepare research outputs, including abstracts, posters, manuscripts, and reports.
  • Present research findings to diverse audiences, effectively communicating key insights.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • A Ph.D. in Architecture, Urban Planning, Social Sciences, Public Health, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience, including project management.
  • Strong background in aging in place, urban design for older adults, or inclusive urban planning.
  • Experience in developing evaluation frameworks or assessment tools is a plus.
  • Excellent project management, communication, and leadership skills.
