Johns Hopkins University (JHU) is currently seeking a highly skilled Business Architect Analyst to join their IT@JH Office of the Deputy CIO. This position plays a crucial role in shaping the university’s technology landscape and supporting mission-critical initiatives across the institution.
Position Overview
As a Business Architect Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing and documenting current business processes and information systems, mapping institutional capabilities to existing IT systems, and helping design future state architectures. Your efforts will directly contribute to the university’s strategic objectives and enhance operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Current State Documentation: Conduct thorough analysis and documentation of existing business processes and IT systems across the university.
- Capability Mapping: Collaborate with various departments to identify and associate key capabilities with current and potential IT solutions.
- Future State Planning: Develop and document future state architectures that align with the university’s vision.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with faculty, staff, and IT teams to gather requirements and validate assumptions.
- Analysis and Reporting: Provide detailed reports on current and future state architectures, including gap analyses and improvement recommendations.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in business architecture or systems analysis, preferably in a higher education environment.
- Proven ability to document current state architectures and develop future state plans.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Master’s Degree in a related field.
- Familiarity with cloud computing and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Certifications such as Certified Business Architect (CBA) are a plus.
