Position Overview

The Business Architect Analyst will play a pivotal role in analyzing and optimizing the university’s technology landscape. This one-year contracted position involves mapping current business capabilities to existing IT systems and facilitating the design and implementation of future state architectures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Current State Architecture Documentation: Analyze and document existing business processes and information systems across the university.
• Capability Mapping: Collaborate with academic and administrative departments to identify key capabilities needed for university operations and associate them with current and potential IT solutions.
• Future State Planning: Develop future state architectures that align with JHU’s strategic objectives, analyzing new technologies for integration into the university’s ecosystem.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with faculty, staff, and IT teams to gather requirements and validate assumptions, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities.
• Analysis and Reporting: Provide detailed analysis, gap analyses, and recommendations for improvement to university leadership.

Qualifications:

Candidates should possess:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in business architecture or systems analysis, preferably in a higher education environment.
• Strong documentation skills and a proven track record of developing future state plans.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A Master’s Degree is preferred.
• Familiarity with cloud computing and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
• Certifications such as Certified Business Architect (CBA) are a plus.

Work Environment and Benefits
