Johns Hopkins University (JHU) is looking for a highly skilled Business Architect Analyst to join its IT@JH Office of the Deputy CIO. Position Overview
The Business Architect Analyst will play a pivotal role in analyzing and optimizing the university’s technology landscape. This one-year contracted position involves mapping current business capabilities to existing IT systems and facilitating the design and implementation of future state architectures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Current State Architecture Documentation: Analyze and document existing business processes and information systems across the university.
- Capability Mapping: Collaborate with academic and administrative departments to identify key capabilities needed for university operations and associate them with current and potential IT solutions.
- Future State Planning: Develop future state architectures that align with JHU’s strategic objectives, analyzing new technologies for integration into the university’s ecosystem.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with faculty, staff, and IT teams to gather requirements and validate assumptions, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities.
- Analysis and Reporting: Provide detailed analysis, gap analyses, and recommendations for improvement to university leadership.
Qualifications:
Candidates should possess:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in business architecture or systems analysis, preferably in a higher education environment.
- Strong documentation skills and a proven track record of developing future state plans.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Master’s Degree is preferred.
- Familiarity with cloud computing and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Certifications such as Certified Business Architect (CBA) are a plus.
Work Environment and Benefits
The position is remote, providing flexibility for the right candidate. The starting salary range is $73,300 to $128,300 annually, commensurate with experience. JHU offers a comprehensive benefits package that supports employees’ health, life, and career development.
