Course Description
The Design Communication Arts program covers various topics, including:
Graphic Design
Branding
Design Thinking
Digital Illustration
Publication Design
Advertising Design
Motion Graphics
Adobe Software
Classes are available in both online and in-person formats, allowing flexibility for students. Each course lasts 11 weeks and is limited to 20 students to ensure personalized attention and engagement.
Instructor Responsibilities
As an instructor, you will:
Develop or update the course syllabus in collaboration with the UCLA Extension Program Director.
Use your expertise to engage students and enhance the curriculum.
Design interactive classroom activities to reinforce learning.
Regularly update materials based on course evaluations.
Respond to student inquiries and maintain communication with program staff.
Complete administrative tasks in a timely manner, including submitting syllabi and textbook orders.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
A strong portfolio demonstrating innovative design solutions and relevant industry experience (3+ years preferred).
Previous college-level or continuing education teaching experience.
Excellent communication skills and interpersonal abilities.
Proficiency in instructional technology and online teaching tools.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in designing curriculum and assessing student performance.
