Johns Hopkins University (JHU) is seeking a highly skilled Design & Construction Senior Project Manager to join its team. This position is crucial for overseeing the management of various building design and construction projects across several campuses, including the historic Homewood campus and other locations.
Position Overview
The Senior Project Manager will report to the Associate Director of Design & Construction and will be responsible for managing all phases of construction projects, from initiation through completion. This role involves handling projects with budgets that often exceed $20 million, ensuring that they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Management: Oversee new construction, renovation, and tenant fit-out projects, ensuring compliance with design standards and budget constraints.
- Client Collaboration: Work closely with client representatives and users to define project requirements and scope, implementing economic inclusion goals for each project.
- Budget Oversight: Establish and monitor project budgets, providing cash flow projections and approving invoices and change orders.
- Construction Coordination: Manage logistics and ensure adherence to policies and project management standards during the construction phase.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: At least ten years of construction or project management experience, with a proven track record of delivering excellent customer service.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of design and construction methodologies for various building types.
- Proficiency in project management software, including MS Office and MS Project, as well as familiarity with AutoCAD and BIM.
