About the Position

The Research Fellow will be involved in a groundbreaking project aimed at automating the design process in urban landscapes. This role emphasizes the transformative potential of design technology, not just as a tool for visualization and assessment, but as a critical component in the design thinking process. The position is set to commence at the end of 2024 or early 2025, with an initial one-year appointment that may be extended for up to three years based on performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop Generative AI Models: Create and implement advanced AI models for urban landscape planning.
  • Data Analysis: Interpret and analyze data to support design processes.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work alongside a diverse team to conduct comprehensive research.
  • Research Publication: Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at academic conferences.
  • Proposal Development: Collaborate with the Principal Investigator (PI) on research proposals and grant applications.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • Education: A PhD in environmental science, GIS, computer science, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming and statistical analysis, particularly in Python, MATLAB, and R.
  • Experience: Familiarity with spatial analysis and large-scale datasets, alongside a strong publication record.
  • Communication: Excellent scientific writing and communication skills are essential.
