About the Research Group

The Heritage, Architecture & Landscape Research Group (PA&P) at CEU San Pablo University has been at the forefront of research in urban and peri-urban landscapes since 2005. With a multidisciplinary team of 18 researchers, the group explores crucial themes such as green space, urban morphology, heritage conservation, and citizens’ place attachment. Their work has garnered multiple research projects and prestigious publications, making them a leader in this field.

Research Focus

The selected candidate will investigate peri-urban landscapes, which are growing rapidly across Europe. Research will explore:

• Community perceptions of peri-urban areas.
• The role of green infrastructure in enhancing living environments.
• Best practices from various case studies across Europe.

Key Research Questions

• How are peri-urban areas perceived in different European contexts?
• What features contribute to the community’s perception of these areas?

Candidate Profile

Ideal candidates should possess:

• A background in Human Geography, Anthropology, Sociology, or Psychology.
• Strong qualitative research skills and experience with methodologies such as in-depth interviews and participatory techniques.
• An advanced level of English; knowledge of Spanish is a plus.
