Johns Hopkins University is currently seeking a Sr. Design & Construction Project Manager to join their dynamic team. About the Position

The Design & Construction Sr. Project Manager will play a crucial role in managing all phases of building design and construction for projects that often exceed $100 million. Reporting to the Associate Director of Design & Construction, this position involves collaboration with various stakeholders, including architects, engineers, and university administrators, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Oversee new construction, renovation, tenant fit-out, and capital renewal projects, managing multiple assignments with challenging timelines and budget constraints.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary contact for external parties, including regulatory agencies and contractors, fostering strong relationships and ensuring smooth project execution.
  • Budget Oversight: Establish and maintain project budgets, review invoices and change orders, and manage financial forecasts.
  • Sustainability Practices: Promote and integrate sustainable practices throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring adherence to JHU’s design standards.
  • Communication: Provide regular updates to stakeholders, ensuring transparency in project status and any potential risks.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: A minimum of ten years of project management experience in construction.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, and familiarity with AutoCAD and BIM is advantageous.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of design and construction methodologies, along with a strategic mindset for planning and problem-solving.
