Course Description
The Design Communication Arts program encompasses a wide array of topics, including:
- Graphic Design
- Branding
- Design Thinking
- Digital Illustration
- Publication Design
- Advertising Design
- Motion Graphics
- Adobe Software
Classes are available in both online and in-person formats, allowing for flexible learning experiences. Each course lasts 11 weeks and is limited to 20 students to ensure a personalized educational environment.
Instructor Responsibilities
As an instructor, you will be expected to:
- Develop and update course syllabi in collaboration with the UCLA Extension Program Director.
- Use your subject-matter expertise to engage students and enhance the curriculum with additional resources.
- Design interactive classroom activities that foster student engagement.
- Regularly monitor and update course materials based on evaluations and student feedback.
- Maintain open communication with students and program staff, addressing inquiries and classroom needs promptly.
- Complete required administrative tasks, including submitting syllabi and managing course logistics.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- A strong portfolio showcasing innovative design solutions and relevant industry experience (3+ years preferred).
- Previous college-level or continuing education teaching experience is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex ideas clearly.
- Proficiency in instructional technology and online teaching tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in curriculum design and student assessment is highly desirable.
