The National University of Singapore (NUS) is inviting applications for a Research Fellow in Urban Modelling within the Centre for Environment and Ageing Well (ENgAGE). This exciting position is part of the Comparative Study of Housing Typologies for Seniors (CS-HTS) project, aimed at adapting housing for older adults in urban settings.

The centre works to consolidate aging-related research and resources, orchestrate capacity-building initiatives, and promote collaboration among diverse stakeholders interested in enhancing living environments.

Project Overview

The CS-HTS project investigates ways to improve existing and future housing to support the aging population. Utilizing a community science approach, the study aims to develop, evaluate, and recommend integrated senior housing models tailored for Singapore. This research involves both cross-sectional and longitudinal studies and brings together a multidisciplinary team of experts in architecture, urban design, social sciences, public health, and more.

Key Responsibilities

As a Research Fellow, you will:

  • Conduct microclimate evaluations to understand environmental impacts on housing.
  • Perform quantitative data analysis to support research findings.
  • Prepare research outputs, including abstracts, posters, manuscripts, and reports.
  • Present research findings to diverse audiences, effectively communicating key insights.

Qualifications

To apply for this position, candidates should possess:

  • A Ph.D. in Architecture, Engineering, Urban Studies, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant working experience.
  • Strong expertise in urban modelling and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation.
  • A solid background in data science and statistical analysis (highly preferred).
  • Experience working in interdisciplinary teams and collaborating across various fields.
  • Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities.
  • A high level of motivation and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
