Purpose of the Scholarship

The Rani Scholarship is inspired by the belief that higher education can transform lives. It supports four female students each year who face disadvantages, enabling them to study in subjects and industries where women currently make up less than 25% of the student cohort.

  • Two scholarships for international students.

The scholarship is applicable to a range of engineering and business-related courses, including:

  • BEng Chemical Engineering
  • BEng Civil and Structural Engineering
  • BEng Software Engineering
  • BSc Computer Science
  • BEng Mechanical Engineering
  • BSc Accounting and Finance
  • BSc Economics
  • BSc Finance and Business Analytics
  • BSc Game Design and Development
  • BSc Computer Science for Cyber Security
  • BSc Finance and Economics

Eligibility Criteria

Home Students Must:

  • Identify as female.
  • Have an unconditional or conditional offer for one of the eligible courses.
  • Meet one of the hardship criteria:
    • Refugee or asylum seeker
    • Care leaver
    • Disabled
    • Low participation background (defined by POLAR4 quintile 1 and 2)
    • Socio-economic disadvantage
    • Reside at a Bradford postcode

International Students Must:

  • Identify as female.
  • Have an unconditional or conditional offer for one of the eligible courses.
  • Meet one of the hardship criteria, including:
    • Refugee or asylum seeker
    • Disabled
    • Other forms of hardship will also be considered

Financial Support

  • International students will receive a 50% discount on their tuition fees.
  • Home students will receive a yearly stipend of £6,930, increasing by 5% each year.
