The National University of Singapore (NUS) is thrilled to announce openings for up to four Tenure Track Assistant Professor positions in Landscape Architecture within its renowned Department of Architecture. About the Department

NUS’s Department of Architecture is consistently ranked among the top 10 globally and is recognized as the best in Asia for Architecture and the Built Environment, according to the QS World University Rankings (2023). The department offers a professionally accredited Master of Architecture program and a range of undergraduate and graduate programs in urban planning, landscape architecture, and conservation.

Role Overview

The successful candidates will be engaged in a range of landscape architectural research and design activities, focusing on:

  • Geospatial Analysis
  • Landscape Representation
  • Urbanism and Ecology
  • Infrastructure and Landscape Engineering

Candidates will be expected to develop interdisciplinary research that addresses significant environmental, urban, and social challenges faced in Asia.

Teaching Responsibilities

The role includes contributing to landscape design studios for both undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as teaching core modules in:

  • Geodesign
  • Ecological and Environmental Systems
  • Landscape Policy and Planning
  • Materials and Site Engineering

Depending on their rank, candidates may also be considered for leadership roles within the Bachelor or Master of Landscape Architecture programs. Senior candidates with a distinguished research profile may be hired directly as tenured faculty.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates should possess:

  • A strong background in landscape architectural research and design.
  • Interest in interdisciplinary research.
  • Experience in professional practice or membership in relevant professional bodies is preferred.
