Role Overview
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in advancing the department’s research in building acoustics, focusing on:
- Acoustic design and technological details for acoustic comfort in buildings.
- Sound insulation and noise control, especially in timber structures common in Scandinavia.
- Enhancing occupant comfort and compliance with building regulations.
As part of NTNU’s Centre for Green Shift in the Built Environment (Green2050), the Associate Professor will contribute to addressing significant sustainability challenges through innovative research.
Responsibilities
Teaching Duties
- Deliver high-quality teaching in building acoustics, covering both theoretical and practical aspects.
- Supervise students at the bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD levels.
- Develop and maintain courses to meet educational standards and industry needs.
Research Duties
- Lead and implement research projects on sound control, acoustic design, and noise mitigation.
- Publish findings in high-quality international journals and present at conferences.
- Foster partnerships with industry, government bodies, and academic institutions to enhance research relevance.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess:
- A PhD in Building Acoustics or a related field.
- Proven teaching experience at the university level.
