About ENgAGE
The position is part of the Centre for Environment and Ageing Well (ENgAGE), which is dedicated to advancing knowledge and practices that promote the physical, psychological, and social well-being of individuals. ENgAGE coordinates aging-related research and resources within the NUS community, fostering collaboration among stakeholders focused on improving living conditions for seniors.
Project Overview
The Research Assistant will support the Comparative Study of Housing Typologies for Seniors (CS-HTS) project. This initiative investigates how existing and future housing can be adapted to enhance aging in place and improve the quality of life for older adults in urban settings. The project employs a community science approach, integrating insights from various disciplines, including architecture, urban design, social sciences, and public health.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will engage in a variety of tasks, including:
- 3D Modelling: Utilizing GIS and BIM technologies to create accurate representations of urban environments.
- Data Analysis: Conducting traditional and AI-driven data analysis to extract meaningful insights.
- Collaboration: Working closely with team members on architectural design aspects and contributing to interdisciplinary research efforts.
- Reporting: Writing comprehensive reports and research papers to communicate findings effectively.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Education: A Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Urban Studies, or a related field.
- Experience: At least one year of relevant research experience, particularly in urban modelling.
- Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
