This role is integral to the work of the Centre for Environment and Ageing Well (ENgAGE), which focuses on enhancing the well-being of individuals across all age groups through research and collaboration.

The centre aims to consolidate aging-related research, education, and resources within the NUS community, fostering collaboration among diverse stakeholders to enhance living environments for everyone.
Project Background
The Comparative Study of Housing Typologies for Seniors (CS-HTS) project investigates how to adapt existing and future housing to support aging in place and improve the quality of life (QoL) for older adults in urban settings. This project employs a community science approach, aiming to collaboratively develop integrated senior housing models tailored for Singapore. It brings together a multidisciplinary team of experts from fields such as architecture, urban design, public health, and social sciences.
Key Responsibilities
As a Research Associate, your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting systematic literature reviews and ethnographic studies.
- Participating in data collection through interviews, focus group discussions, and surveys.
- Analyzing qualitative data and interpreting findings.
- Writing comprehensive reports and research papers.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, candidates should possess:
- A Master’s degree in Public Health, Urban Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant research experience in Singapore, particularly with systematic literature reviews, ethnographic studies, and qualitative methods.
- Strong qualitative data analysis skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with fluency in local dialects, including knowledge of Mandarin dialects.
- The ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary research team.
