Role and Responsibilities

As a Post-doctoral Fellow, you will engage in both theoretical and empirical research to develop a multi-scale modelling framework aimed at understanding urban systems, particularly in relation to population dynamics and economic activities. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing land-use and transport simulations, including cellular automata and agent-based models.
  • Conducting short- and long-term forecasting of urban systems.
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to forge a strong technology-policy nexus in the twin cities of Hong Kong and Shenzhen.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • A Ph.D. in urban data science, transport modelling, spatial analysis, statistical physics, urban planning, geography, or related fields.
  • A strong publication record in high-ranked journals.
  • Experience in computer modelling and proficiency in programming languages relevant to urban systems development.
  • A collaborative mindset to work effectively within interdisciplinary teams.
