The National Laboratory of Energy and Geology (LNEG) in Portugal is seeking an Assistant Researcher in the scientific area of Geosciences, specifically focused on research applied to Cartography. Role Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:

  • Conducting geological mapping across extensive areas, collaborating with large teams in diverse geological terrains.
  • Organizing multidimensional databases and designing legend architecture for cartographic materials.
  • Participating in the design, development, and execution of research projects and related scientific activities.
  • Guiding and supervising research activities conducted by trainees and assistants.
  • Contributing to training programs within the scope of research and development methodologies.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Candidates should meet the following requirements:

  • Education: A PhD in Geosciences or a related field, or relevant scientific curriculum if the doctorate is in a different area.
  • Experience: Proven experience in geological cartography, including supervising large teams and working with different geological formations.
  • Skills: Familiarity with multidisciplinary studies involving geophysics, geochemistry, mineralogy, and database organization for cartographic applications.
  • Language Proficiency: Excellent command of Portuguese.
