The University of Bradford is excited to announce the Bradford Futures Scholarship for the academic year 2025/26. This scholarship offers a valuable financial opportunity for deserving undergraduate students, aimed at supporting those who may face barriers in accessing higher education.
About the Bradford Futures Scholarship
The Bradford Futures Scholarship provides £1,500 per year to eligible undergraduate students who demonstrate financial need or come from underrepresented backgrounds. This cash payment can significantly ease the financial burden of tuition and living costs, allowing students to focus on their studies.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the Bradford Futures Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be a new (first degree), full-time, home fee-paying undergraduate student.
- Be either in year zero (foundation year) or the first year of their undergraduate studies.
- Demonstrate that they meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Coming from a low participation area (POLAR 4 quintiles 1 and 2).
- Having a low household income or low socioeconomic status.
- Identifying as a BAME student.
- Having a disability.
- Being a young carer or a care leaver.
- Being a refugee or asylum seeker (not already receiving another university-specific scholarship).
- Being estranged from parents.
- Being an adult learner (aged 25 and above).
Applicable Courses
The scholarship is available for all full-time undergraduate courses offered at the University of Bradford.
Application Process
- Application Period: Applications will open on October 1, 2025, and close on October 31, 2025.
- The application process is entirely electronic, and students are encouraged to apply early.
- It’s advisable for students to have already applied for student finance prior to submitting their scholarship application.
Please note that this is a competitive scholarship, and not all applicants will receive funding. The decision of the scholarship panel is final, and there is no appeals process or feedback provided.

Successful applicants may also be eligible for other financial support, such as the standard undergraduate bursary and the University’s Academic Excellence Scholarship.
