Exciting Research Opportunity: Join NUS as a Research Fellow in Coastal Dynamics
Website National University of Singapore
Are you passionate about coastal dynamics and looking to advance your career in a cutting-edge research environment? The National University of Singapore (NUS) is seeking a Research Fellow to join the College of Design and Engineering at the Kent Ridge Campus. This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to important research on ship wakes and near-shore processes.
About the Position
As a Research Fellow, you will conduct innovative research focused on coastal dynamics, specifically investigating:
- Ship Wakes: Understanding the marine traffic-induced waves that affect coastal areas.
- Near-Shore Hydrodynamics: Studying waves and currents that influence coastal environments.
- Morphological Processes: Examining how physical changes in coastal zones occur.
You will utilize numerical simulations and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling to explore these critical areas, contributing to the development of knowledge that can help manage and protect our coastlines.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Conduct research on coastal dynamics and related processes.
- Perform numerical simulations and CFD modeling.
- Analyze data and present findings clearly through written reports and presentations.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to advance research goals.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:
- A PhD in a related field, such as coastal and ocean engineering.
- Strong quantitative analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, with the ability to present results effectively.
- A solid publication record in relevant research areas is advantageous.
- Experience in numerical modeling, wave theories, ship wakes, and coastal processes is highly encouraged.
Why Join NUS?
At NUS, you will be part of a prestigious institution recognized for its commitment to research excellence. The university offers a collaborative environment where you can work with leading experts in the field and engage in projects that address real-world challenges related to coastal dynamics and environmental sustainability.
