What the Bursary Scheme Offers

The Undergraduate Bursary Scheme provides financial assistance to eligible students, helping to alleviate some of the costs associated with attending university. Key details include:

  • Bursary Amounts:
    • Year 1: £500
    • Year 2: £600
    • Year 3 and subsequent years: £700

Payments will be made directly to students’ bank accounts in the last week of March via the Student Loans Company.

Who is Eligible?

To qualify for the bursary, students must meet the following criteria:

  1. New Students: The bursary is available to new students enrolling at the University of Bradford in 2024/25.
  2. Residency: Applicants must be home or EU students paying home fees and studying full-time.
  3. Income Threshold: Family income must be assessed at under £30,000 per year by the relevant student finance service.
  4. Full Course Fees: Students must be paying the full course fee of £9,250 for a standard degree.
  5. Active Engagement: Students must fully engage with their studies, including attending lectures, submitting coursework, and completing exams.

Application Process

The application process for the Undergraduate Bursary Scheme is straightforward. Eligible students will be automatically identified using information from the Student Loans Company, so there’s no need to apply directly. However, it’s crucial that students are financially assessed by 31 July 2025 to receive their bursary for the academic year.
