This interdisciplinary program is part of the College of Design and Engineering and aims to address the complexities of urban development through innovative education and research.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Curriculum Leadership: Design and implement innovative, interdisciplinary curricula focused on urban systems, sustainable cities, and smart technologies.
  • Collaborative Partnerships: Cultivate partnerships with international academic institutions, government organizations, and industry stakeholders to enhance the program’s global impact.
  • Educational Innovation: Utilize AI and blended learning methods to create forward-thinking educational approaches that prepare students for future urban challenges.
  • Strategic Vision: Provide leadership and guidance for the strategic direction of NUS Cities’ educational programs, ensuring alignment with sustainability initiatives and the evolving needs of smart cities.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

  • Ph.D. or equivalent in a city or urban-related discipline, such as architecture, urban economics, sociology, or engineering.
  • Substantial teaching experience with evidence of impactful contributions in higher education settings.

Desired Experience

  • Relevant experience in sustainable city planning, smart technologies, or urban systems will be highly advantageous.
