  • Salary Range: $66,259 – $186,466 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.

About the Department

UCLA’s Department of Art is dedicated to providing a comprehensive education in art production and theory. The department emphasizes the integration of contemporary technologies and traditional practices in its curriculum.

Responsibilities

The selected candidates will teach both undergraduate and graduate-level courses that focus on technical skills and production processes. Responsibilities may include:

Undergraduate Production Courses

  • Basics of shooting, editing, and output for still and moving images.
  • Professional setups and standard practices.
  • Post-production techniques and tools.
  • Instruction in the use of cameras, lights, and microphones.

Graduate-Level Technical Studio Courses

  • Digital technology and construction.
  • Use and maintenance of advanced equipment such as CNC routers, laser cutters, and 3D printers.
  • Instruction in traditional fabrication techniques, including wood and metal fabrication.
  • Emphasis on safety and maintenance of studio equipment.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • A Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree is required.
