About the Department

The Department of Civil and Structural Engineering at Kyushu University comprises three divisions: Structural and Earthquake Engineering, Structural Design and Construction Materials Engineering, and Geotechnics. The selected candidate will primarily engage in seismic engineering research and education, contributing to the advancement of knowledge in this critical field.

Responsibilities

As a Professor, your role will include:

  • Conducting research and analysis in the areas of Seismic Engineering, Earthquake Engineering, and Disaster Prevention Engineering.
  • Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in subjects such as Bridge Engineering and Disaster Prevention.
  • Promoting academic collaborations with domestic and international universities.
  • Engaging in lectures conducted in both Japanese and English.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates should possess:

  • A strong academic background in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Proven research experience in seismic engineering.
  • Excellent communication skills in both Japanese and English.
  • A commitment to teaching and fostering academic growth among students.

Benefits and Compensation

  • Annual Salary: Approximately 9 million yen, based on experience.
  • Working Hours: 8:30 AM to 5:15 PM, with a discretionary labor system in place.
