Job Title: Research Fellow (NUS Cities)

Location: Kent Ridge Campus, Singapore
Contract Duration: 1 to 2 years, with the possibility of renewal

About NUS Cities

NUS Cities is a multidisciplinary platform committed to creating liveable, sustainable, and resilient urban environments. The initiative focuses on three core pillars:

  1. Education: Training the next generation of urban planners and practitioners using a systems approach.
  2. Research: Addressing key urban challenges and gradually developing a comprehensive Science of Cities.
  3. Advisory: Offering strategic advisory services to organizations and cities, collaborating with local and international partners.

Key Responsibilities

As a Research Fellow, you will be responsible for:

  • Database Management: Establishing and managing large datasets relevant to urban research.
  • Data Analysis: Interpreting and analyzing data to derive actionable insights.
  • Reporting: Generating reports and presentations for stakeholders, showcasing research findings.
  • Collaboration: Working across teams on multiple research projects and contributing to the development of new research ideas.
  • Publication: Preparing conference presentations and papers for submission to peer-reviewed journals.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Education: A Doctorate degree in a relevant field.
  • Research Interests: Candidates should have a keen interest in urban studies, specifically in:
    • Climate Resilience
    • Ageing and Health
    • Transportation and Land Use
    • Urban Observatory
  • Publication Record: At least three recent and relevant journal papers related to the above areas.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Personal Attributes: Resourceful, adaptable, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
