Johns Hopkins University (JHU) is on the lookout for a Design & Construction Senior Project Manager to join its esteemed team. This role is pivotal in managing significant construction and renovation projects across various campuses, including the historic Homewood campus and others.

About the Role

The Senior Project Manager will work under the general supervision of the Associate Director of Design & Construction. This position involves overseeing all phases of building design and construction, managing projects that can exceed $100 million in cost.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Oversee new construction, renovations, and tenant fit-outs, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with a wide range of stakeholders, including university deans, faculty, and external vendors, to maintain project momentum and ensure compliance with university standards.
  • Budget Oversight: Establish and monitor project budgets, provide cash flow projections, and approve all invoices and change orders.
  • Sustainable Practices: Promote sustainability in project delivery and construction processes.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years in construction or project management, showcasing a strong aptitude for customer service.

Preferred Skills

  • Proficiency in project management software (MS Office, MS Project) and familiarity with AutoCAD and BIM.
  • Strong understanding of design and construction methodologies for various building types.
