Research Focus

The Single-Molecule Dynamics in Cells group at the Department of Neuroscience and Biomedical Engineering is looking for two enthusiastic doctoral researchers. The project will explore the biophysical mechanisms of cellular adaptation to environmental stresses using state-of-the-art super-resolution microscopy and single molecule tracking techniques.

Key Responsibilities

As a doctoral researcher, you will:

  • Conduct experimental work in the laboratory, including imaging using a custom TIRF microscope.
  • Analyze data from super-resolution microscopy and single particle tracking.
  • Develop novel methods and protocols for data collection and analysis.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of experts in microbiology, biochemistry, and biophysics.
  • Present your findings at internal and external meetings.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess:

  • A Master’s degree in biophysics, biotechnology, computational biology, or a related field.
  • A solid understanding of biology and experience with fluorescence microscopy, signal processing, or machine learning.
  • Coding skills (Python/Matlab or similar) for data analysis.
  • Strong motivation and persistence in tackling scientific challenges.
  • Good written and oral communication skills in English.
