Job Title: Postdoctoral Fellow in Urban Building Energy Modelling

Research Focus
The successful candidate will be involved in developing socioeconomic pathways for upgrading local building stocks in selected Norwegian and US cities. This role will focus on:

Reducing energy use and carbon emissions in urban buildings.
Developing new models to assess retrofit costs and funding requirements.
Collaborating with local governments to provide guidance on incentives necessary for transitioning to more sustainable building practices.
Responsibilities
As a Postdoctoral Fellow, you will:

Contribute to innovative research projects related to urban energy modelling.
Work closely with both NTNU and MIT, engaging in international collaboration.
Actively participate in the Energy and Environment Group’s initiatives, which include several high-profile research centers and projects focused on climate-positive communities and zero-emission neighborhoods.
Qualifications
Ideal candidates should possess:

A doctoral degree in Sustainable Architecture, Building Physics, Energy, Environmental, or Civil Engineering.
Proficiency in urban building energy simulation tools and integrated energy design.
Experience in collaborative research projects, ideally with an international focus.
Strong analytical skills and proven capabilities in project management.
Preferred Skills
Candidates with experience in:

Life cycle assessment (LCA) and life cycle costing (LCC).
Modelling building envelope systems and environmental performance.
Teaching and mentoring students in related fields will be highly regarded.
Compensation and Benefits

An annual salary starting from NOK 594,500, depending on qualifications and experience.
