The University of East Anglia (UEA) is excited to announce an opening for a Lecturer in Geography and Global Development on a fixed-term basis for one year. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals passionate about teaching and research in the field of geography and global development.

About the Role

Located within the School of Global Development, this role involves contributing to the teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate programs. You will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing modules, as well as developing teaching materials and supervising dissertations.

Key Responsibilities

In this position, you will:

  • Teach and Assess: Deliver engaging lectures and seminars for undergraduate and postgraduate students, ensuring high-quality educational experiences.
  • Develop Curriculum: Organize and plan modules while creating effective teaching and learning materials.
  • Supervise Students: Mentor and supervise students during their dissertation projects at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • Promote Engagement: Foster enterprise and engagement activities within the university, enhancing community involvement.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • Educational Background: A PhD (or equivalent) in geography or a closely related subject area.
  • Experience: Previous supervision experience at the postgraduate level is preferred, along with experience in managing enterprise and engagement activities.
  • Skills: Strong communication and organizational skills, with a commitment to interdisciplinary teaching.
