The National University of Singapore (NUS) is seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join their NUS Cities research team as a Research Fellow. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the development of liveable, sustainable, and resilient cities of the future.

About NUS Cities

NUS Cities is a multi-disciplinary, open, and inclusive collaborating platform that focuses on three key areas:

  • Education: Educating the next generation of students and current practitioners to take an urban systems approach to planning, governing, building, and managing cities.
  • Research: Tackling some of the biggest urban challenges through a systems approach, with the goal of developing a Science of Cities.
  • Advisory: Providing strategic advisory services to organizations and cities, both locally and globally.

Responsibilities

As a Research Fellow, you will be responsible for:

  • Establishing and managing large databases
  • Interpreting and analyzing data
  • Generating reports and presentations for relevant stakeholders
  • Developing conference presentations and papers for submission to peer-reviewed journals
  • Collaborating across teams and contributing to multiple research projects
  • Working closely with research PIs to develop new research ideas and ensure the successful and timely completion of projects

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this position will possess:

  • A Doctorate degree
  • A strong interest in cities and a desire to delve into one or more of the following research modules:
    Climate Resilience
    Ageing and Health
    Transportation and Land Use
    Urban Observatory
  • At least three recent and relevant publications in good journals on the above research modules
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools, or any relevant software and tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A resourceful, self-driven, and adaptable personality with the ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
