Key Responsibilities

The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing all phases of building design and construction for projects that can exceed $100 million. Here’s a glimpse of what the role entails:

  • Project Management: Manage the full lifecycle of construction projects, including new builds, renovations, and tenant fit-outs.
  • Client Collaboration: Work with various stakeholders, including university deans, department chairs, and external contractors, to ensure projects meet their objectives and stay on budget.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Utilize PMWeb for thorough documentation and ensure adherence to JHU’s policies and project management standards.

Specific Duties

  • Initiation & Planning: Review program requirements, develop project schedules, and implement Economic Inclusion goals.
  • Design Oversight: Ensure that all designs meet JHU standards and that project deliverables comply with requirements.
  • Budget Management: Establish and monitor project budgets, approve invoices, and manage change orders effectively.
  • Construction Supervision: Coordinate logistics, monitor construction progress, and ensure compliance with all safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, candidates should have:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in construction or project management.
  • Strong knowledge of design and construction methodologies, along with excellent communication and organizational skills.
