Position Overview

This full-time, temporary position is designed for an Established Researcher (R3) and will commence on September 1, 2025. The successful candidate will join the Faculty of Architecture, Architectural Engineering and Urban Planning (LOCI) and the Louvain Research Institute for Landscape, Architecture, and the Built Environment (LAB).

Key Responsibilities

The role encompasses a blend of teaching, research, and community service duties:

  • Teaching: You will primarily teach courses related to architectural technology, construction, and environmental performance. Additionally, you will supervise master’s theses and contribute to the teaching of architectural projects.
  • Research: Develop and lead research programs focusing on innovative construction techniques, life cycle analysis, and the physics of the built environment. You will also supervise PhD theses and engage in interdisciplinary research.
  • Community Service: Participate in various service activities within the institution, contribute to societal engagement, and enhance the university’s international visibility.

Ideal Candidate Profile

To be considered for this position, candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • Education: A PhD in Engineering Science, Architectural Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field, ideally with international experience.
  • Experience: Proven track record in university teaching and significant scientific contributions, evidenced by publications of international standing.
  • Skills: Strong teamwork capabilities, creative teaching methods, and familiarity with both qualitative and quantitative research methods. Fluency in French and English is essential.
