Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Manage complex construction, renovation, and tenant fit-out projects, often exceeding $20 million in cost.
- Collaborate with various units within the Facilities Management Department to ensure project success.
- Represent the university to external partners, including architects, engineers, and contractors, fostering strong vendor relationships.
- Provide exemplary customer service by overseeing all phases of the project from initiation through construction, ensuring timely updates on status, budget, and schedule.
Project Management Duties
Your specific duties will include:
- Project Initiation: Review program requirements and scope with clients, develop project milestone schedules, and prepare Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for various services.
- Project Design: Coordinate reviews and ensure compliance with design standards, promoting sustainable practices throughout the project lifecycle.
- Project Budget: Establish and monitor project budgets, manage cash flow projections, and approve invoices and change orders.
- Project Construction: Oversee construction logistics, ensuring adherence to policies and managing project schedules to meet milestones.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of ten years of construction/project management experience.
- Strong knowledge of design and construction methodologies, including contract issues and project delivery methods.
Preferred Skills
- Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, and familiarity with AutoCAD and BIM software.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
