About NUS Cities
NUS Cities is a multidisciplinary platform designed to address the pressing challenges faced by urban environments today. The initiative focuses on three main pillars:
- Education: Preparing the next generation of urban planners and practitioners through a case-based learning approach.
- Research: Adopting a systems approach to tackle significant urban challenges and progressively developing a comprehensive “Science of Cities.”
- Advisory: Offering strategic advisory services to organizations and municipalities, while collaborating with local and international partners.
Key Responsibilities
As a Research Assistant (Business Title: Associate, NUS Cities), your responsibilities will include:
- Database Management: Establishing and managing databases to support various research projects.
- Data Analysis: Analyzing and interpreting data to generate meaningful insights.
- Collaboration: Assisting across multiple research teams and projects simultaneously.
- Academic Contributions: Supporting the preparation of conference presentations and papers for submission to peer-reviewed journals.
- Project Support: Working closely with research Principal Investigators (PIs) to ensure timely and successful project completion.
Qualifications
To be eligible for this position, candidates should possess:
- Educational Background: A minimum of a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
- Research Interest: A keen interest in urban studies, specifically in areas such as:
- Climate Resilience
- Ageing and Health
- Transportation and Land Use
- Urban Observatory
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Personal Attributes: Resourcefulness, adaptability, and a commitment to fostering a positive organizational culture.
