Johns Hopkins University (JHU) is excited to announce an opening for a Senior Design & Construction Project Manager within the Bloomberg School of Public Health’s Facilities Management Department. This key role will be instrumental in managing and overseeing a variety of significant building projects, including renovations and new constructions.
Position Overview
As a Senior Project Manager, you will have the responsibility of managing projects with costs that can exceed $20 million. This position requires exceptional skills in project initiation, design, budgeting, and construction management, ensuring that all projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Management: Lead all phases of building design and construction, coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Client Engagement: Collaborate closely with client representatives and users to define project requirements and scope, while actively managing expectations.
- Budget Oversight: Establish and monitor project budgets, providing cash flow projections and approving all project invoices and change orders.
- Construction Coordination: Oversee construction activities, ensuring adherence to design standards and compliance with policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: A minimum of ten years of construction or project management experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in design and construction methodologies for various building types, including mechanical and electrical systems.
- Strong knowledge of contract administration, project management standards, and sustainable practices.
Skills
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strategic planning abilities and strong problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, and familiarity with AutoCAD and BIM software.
