NUS Cities is a collaborative platform that focuses on creating liveable, sustainable, and resilient urban areas. With a multidisciplinary approach, it encompasses three key pillars:
- Education: Training the next generation of urban planners and managers through a systems-based approach.
- Research: Tackling urban challenges by developing a comprehensive Science of Cities.
- Advisory: Offering strategic guidance to organizations and cities, while partnering with global universities and industry leaders.
This initiative seeks to harness the diverse expertise within NUS to enhance urban planning, governance, and management for high-density, high-growth environments.
Key Responsibilities
As a Research Fellow, your responsibilities will include:
- Establishing and managing extensive databases.
- Interpreting and analyzing data to generate insights.
- Creating reports and presentations for stakeholders.
- Preparing conference presentations and papers for peer-reviewed journals.
- Collaborating across teams on multiple research projects.
- Working closely with Principal Investigators (PIs) to develop new research ideas and ensure timely project completion.
Qualifications
To apply for this position, candidates should have:
- A Doctorate degree in a relevant field.
- Research interests in one of the following modules:
- Climate Resilience
- Ageing and Health
- Transportation and Land Use
- Urban Observatory
- A strong publication record, with at least three recent journal papers related to the above modules.
- Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools for quantitative research.
- A keen interest in urban studies and city-related issues.
- Experience leading research projects is advantageous.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Resourcefulness, adaptability, and the ability to multitask.
